Home Health Compare
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) provides information concerning the performance of home health agencies in 11 quality indicators. The quality data, distributed publicly via http://www.medicare.gov/, compares clinical and functional outcome information regarding home health services offered by agencies nationwide.
Quality measures give you information about how well home health agencies provide care for some of their patients The measures provide information about patients’ physical and mental health, and whether their ability to perform basic daily activities is maintained or improved. While a patient’s health condition (such as heart disease or diabetes) may not be expected to improve, the patient can often be expected to improve in the areas covered by the quality measures. Quality information can be used to help you compare home health agencies. |
