Eligibility Requirements
Medicare requires that patients receiving home health services:
A “home” may be a house, an apartment, a relative’s home or an assisted living facility. However, a hospital or a skilled nursing facility is not considered a home. Medicare covers skilled services on an intermittent or part-time basis. The nurse or therapist generally visits the patient up to a few times per week. Visits are generally for an hour or less.
Most insurance companies do not require Maternal Child patients to be homebound.
